Police investigate murder of three-year old found at a dump site
Gauteng police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a three-year-old boy was found at a dumping site in Germiston on Sunday.
Two minors - aged seven and eight years old respectively - have been questioned in connection with the murder of the toddler.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says the three-year-old was reported missing on Saturday.
"We don't know what actually transpired, but after the two boys who were last seen with the boy, they were taken in and questioned.
"Later, they were released to the custody of their parents," Makhubela said.
Makhubela added that the young victime was found by a community member who was passing by.

He reported the matter to the authorities.
"Indeed when we found the body, it was discovered that it's a boy who was reported missing on Saturday and the family confirmed that.
"The cause of death will be determined by the post mortem report."
Makhubela has denied reports that the two young boys confessed to the murder.
