Police issue VIP protection for Malema
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is receiving VIP protection.
Government is paying for Malema’s blue light protection.
The police’s Vishu Naidoo told Jacaranda FM on Tuesday that Malema is receiving VIP protection but could not divulge any further details.
He said the red berets’ leader is being protected by police officers and due processes were followed.
Naidoo cited security reasons for his taciturn.

In April, police said a detailed examination is underway into claims of an assassination plot against Malema.
The threat analysis followed several alleged death threats.
The EFF previously alleged that individuals from the North West have approached hit men from other provinces to carry out the attack.
