Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the alleged robbery and assault of a 61-year-old university professor inside his house in Muckleneuck, Pretoria.
Police spokesperson Daniel Mavimbela says suspects entered the house through an open door on Tuesday evening.
"One of the suspects, 19, received a rude awakening when he was reportedly caught napping shortly after 1 am at Justice Mohammed Street after his alleged accomplices had driven away and left him behind when they fled the scene after the robbery."

Mavimbela says the second suspect was arrested while he was walking to a Shoprite store on Wednesday.
"He was reportedly spotted being in possession of some of the items that fitted the description of some of the properties that were stolen from the professor."
Mavimbela says a laptop, bank cards, R5 000 in cash and bottles of whisky were confiscated.
The suspects will be charged with house robbery and possession of suspected stolen property.
They are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon.
