Police probe sexual harassment of grade 8 girls by fellow pupils at Midrand school
Police are investigating three allegations of sexual harassment at a school in Kaalfontein, Midrand.
Three Grade 8 pupils at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School were allegedly sexually harassed by fellow pupils on Thursday and Friday.
In the first incident, a grade 10 boy allegedly sexually harassed two grade 8 girls after school.
“The school called in the parents of victims and the perpetrator in to inform them of this incident, all of whom were not aware of these allegations,” says Gauteng education spokesperson Steve Mabona.

In the second incident, two grade 10 pupils and one grade 11 pupil allegedly sexually harassed a grade 8 pupil at school.
“Psycho-social support was provided to the victims and their parents by our district officials, and disciplinary hearings have been scheduled for the perpetrators.
“Police are investigating circumstances surrounding these allegations,” says Mabona.
