Police release picture of abducted Durban baby
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Police have released a photo of the baby kidnapped during an apparent hijacking in Durban earlier today.
The one-month-old baby was inside the car when it was hijacked in Durban.
The car was later found in Montclair.
"The baby is not there. She is still missing, and we are still looking for the baby. We are also appealing to the members of the community to assist us. If they see the baby, please go to any local police station," says Zwane.
It was initially believed that the white Toyota Yaris was taken from the City View Shopping Centre - the old Game City in Durban Central.
However, centre management have confirmed the incident took place near First Avenue and Stamford Hill Road and not on the mall's premises.
Police said at the time that a woman and her two children had been walking to their car when they were approached by two suspects who allegedly fled with the vehicle and the baby.
Durban residents have rallied to help with the police issuing calls to the community to find the baby.
Marshall Security's Kyle van Reenen has shared some insight into the search, from the road and a helicopter in the air, that went down to locate the vehicle.
