Police reveal more details of Joe Maila's death
Gauteng police say Joe Maila allegedly shot himself.
The health ministry spokesperson died on Thursday evening.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says Maila died at a shooting range in Silverton in Pretoria.
Meanwhile, health minister Aaron Motsoaledi says he will be travelling to Polokwane to meet with the family on Saturday.
Maila is survived by his wife and two children.
Motsoaledi has urged the media and the public to allow the family space during this difficult time.
"I appeal to the media and members of the community to allow the family space to deal with his death. Details of his memorial and funeral services will be announced as soon as we receive information from the family."
