Police on standby for Operation Dudula in Durban - Cele
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police Minister Bheki Cele says officers have been placed on standby following social media alerts that Operation Dudula's set to descend on Durban on Sunday.

Members of the movement are expected to hold a meeting in the CBD.
The group's controversial stance on foreign nationals has come under fire.
It says it's against the employment of illegal foreigners.
Cele says they are aware of the messages going around.
"We are not going to be able to stop people from marching. Once they start to do any form of violence, we will have to respond. If they go to those malls and other areas and if the owners complain to the police, police will have to act."

KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says they met with the leadership of Operation Dudula this week.
"We advised them if they want to march, we need to arrange a meeting where the City and ourselves get to understand where the march is going start and to where and all those logistics can be arranged.
"We also warned them about the law, that you have a right to march and to gather and elect whatever structure you want to elect, but if you can go into other people's premises, a shop or anywhere else and you say you want to do something, you are breaking the law."
