A provincial leader of a major political party as well as an accomplice is expected to appear in Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on charges of trespassing, incitement to public violence and a charge depicted under the Gathering Act.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Leonard Hlathi, says the arrests of the duo emanates from a message on Facebook that went viral calling on people living near White River to illegally occupy land belonging to the Mbombela Municipality.

"A number of people showed up at Plaston near White River with equipment as directed, unaware that a case has been opened by the Mbombela Municipality at Nelspruit Police Station as soon as the free residential stands message surfaced," says Hlathi.
Hlathi says the message is viewed as inciting people to commit an illegal act of occupying land unlawfully.
