Limpopo man slapped with two life terms for child rape, murder

Lehlogonolo Masehla (26) kidnapped, raped and killed a six-year-old girl who was reported missing by her family.
Police said the girl was last seen playing outside her grandmother’s home before police and community members made the grim discovery of her lifeless body at the accused’s home in Phokoane, Mmakophala. Village.
“The accused was subsequently arrested, and the case of kidnapping, rape and murder was opened and transferred to Nebo Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit,” said police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba.
Sentencing was handed down in the High Court division of Polokwane on Friday.
Masehla was handed two life terms and a further 10 years imprisonment after he was convicted of the rape, kidnapping and murder of a minor.
The sentence terms will run concurrently, and the accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
