The power failure left residents in several areas of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane battling water shortages.
The entity's spokesperson Makenosi Maroo says the outage resulted in reservoirs and towers being unable to supply water to several suburbs.
"We are pleased to report back that the system has been restored, the pumping station was restored on Tuesday night 2and the system pumping was at maximum capacity by midnight.
"The technical team and Eskom team worked around the clock to identify the root cause and restored the affected system."
