The President brings his court arguments against the Public Protector
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria is set to hear an application by President Cyril Ramaphosa for a judicial review of a report by Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
The case revolves around her report released in 2019 regarding a R500 000 donation made by the late Bosasa CEO, Gawin Watson.

The money was donated in 2017 as part of Ramaphosa's campaign to become the president of the ANC.
Mkhwebane found that Ramaphosa had deliberately misled Parliament and breached his oath of office when he denied knowing about the donation.
She has since referred the matter to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), finding there was merit for an offician investigation into allegations of fraud and money laundering.
News24 released emails indicating that the President was aware of the donations made to his "CR17" campaign, despite his denial.
Last year, the High Court in Pretoria granted Ramaphosa interim relief to set aside the remedial action recommended by Mkhwebane.
The case has been set down on the court roll for two days.
