President Zuma to address Vuwani residents
Updated | By Marius van der Walt
President Jacob Zuma is expected in Vuwani, Limpopo today amid the ongoing demarcation crisis in the area.
Residents are protesting their inclusion in the new municipality with Malamulele.
President Zuma met with Vha-Venda King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana last week to discuss the ongoing shutdown of services in the area.
"The President will address the public on the decisions that were taken during a meeting convened on 2 May 2017, at the request of His Majesty King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana of Vha-Venda to discuss the situation at Vuwani," said Presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga.
Ngqulunga said the leaders raised concerns about the deteriorating situation in Vuwani and emphasised that urgent steps need to be taken to normalise the situation.
However, residents warn that President Zuma needs to come with concrete solutions to the demarcation issue.
"We'll be happy if the president comes to us and gives us the real solution, one that we like. If not, there will be a big, big strike," one resident told Jacaranda FM News.
