Process to energise Kloofendal transmission lines underway
City Power said the process to energise the Kloofendal transmission power lines began on Saturday afternoon.
Several parts of Johannesburg have been without electricity since Friday.
The widespread power outage in the Roodepoort area was caused by a tree which fell on the transmission lines while City Parks was cutting trees on Friday.
The affected areas include Horison, Horison View, Florida Park, Georgia, Roodekraans, Wilropark, Allen’s nek, Heldekruin, Eagle Canyon, Ruimsig, Wilgeheuwel, Constantia Kloof, Strubensvalley, Weltevredenpark, Honeydew, and surrounding areas.
City Power had anticipated that the first circuit will be ready for restoration by Saturday afternoon.
