Protest closes N4 in Mpumalanga

Law enforcement in Mpumalanga say they are keeping a close eye on a community protest on the N4.

Angry residents blocked the N4 towards Vosman on Monday morning.
Mpumalanga spokesperson for community safety Moeti Mmusi says road is closed.
“The N4 toll road towards Vosman is closed due to a protest that is currently taking place. It’s a protest that started this morning. However, the law enforcement officers have responded to that situation.”
Motorists traveling to Pretoria have been urged to use alternative routes.

“We are appealing to motorists who will be traveling towards Bronkhorspruit towards Pretoria to consider using other alternative roads R50 or R545 they should use the N12 and go via Balmoral to reconnect towards Pretoria,” says Mmusi.
"The situation is being watched with a hawk’s eye with a view of getting the road open as soon as possible.”
