Protests forces Kruger Park to close Punda Maria gate

A community protest has forced the Kruger National Park to close one of its gates.
Spokesperson Ike Phaahla says the park has closed its Punda Maria gate.
He has urged visitors to the park to make use of alternative gates, such as the Phalaborwa entrance.

“Kruger National Park can indeed confirm that there are protests happening around Matiane village which is close to the Punda Maria gate.
“We are advising visitors to the camp to use alternative gates such as Phalaborwa to enter or leave the park, as we have closed the Punda Maria gate for now.”
