Public Protector committee meets to consider report
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Ad Hoc Committee tasked with finding a new Public Protector will meet on Tuesday to consider and adopt its report.
The committee has chosen Busisiwe Mkhwebane to succeed Advocate Thuli Madonsela as head of the Chapter 9 institution.
"Members from various parties in the committee need to input in the report so that it goes to the National Assembly as having been agreed to by all committee members," Committee Chairperson Dr Makhosi Makhoza.
Dr Khoza added that the committee's report would be submitted to the National Assembly as soon as it is adopted, to ensure that the Committee meets the 31 August 2016 deadline it was given to conclude its business.
Once the committee report is submitted to the National Assembly, it becomes the business of the Programming Committee to schedule the matter for debate in the House.
