Putco wants court to interdict bus drivers' strike
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Transport operator Putco says its bus services remain suspended amid industrial action by its drivers.
Workers have downed tools at the company, demanding the employer pay them their salary bonuses dating back to 2020.
On Thursday workers blockaded gates at the Dobsonville and Pretoria depots preventing buses from leaving the depot.
Putco spokesperson Lindokuhle Xulu said passengers who have unused valid tickets will be reimbursed.
"Workers who were participating in the illegal strike were given notices to return to work to avoid disciplinary charges from being leveled against them. Putco will apply for a court interdict tomorrow (Friday) should the illegal strike continue.
“Management apologises to passengers affected by this illegal strike and urges passengers to find alternative means of travel."
Putco also provides services in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
