The Department of Health in Mpumalanga is facing legal action for placing people in quarantine in what they claim to be unhygienic conditions.
City Press reported that seven people, who were repatriated from Mozambique in April and placed at the government-owned Zithabeni Resort, claim the department housed them in unbearable conditions.

The resort, which initially housed 115 people, is still housing 107 people under quarantine.
"The matter is already in the courts and we will not be able to talk about it until there is a court decision on the matter," says the department's spokesperson Dumisani Malamule.
