Updated | By Neo Motloung
The remains of the late Zulu Regent Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu were on their way to KwaKhangelamankengane royal palace in Kwa-Nongoma on Wednesday.
The remains of the Queen were fetched by the Zulu and eSwatini royal families at the Hillbrow mortuary on Wednesday.
The Zulu women regiment called Isiphithiphithi, Zulu maidens and Amabotho were also at the mortuary to accompany the remains of Queen Dlamini-Zulu.
Gauteng Premier David Makhura said he hopes that the Zulu nation would be able to pull through the passing of The Queen.
"It is indeed sad that we lost the Queen Regent Her Majesty immediately after losing the King.
"I think all as a people, what we can do is wish the royal Zulu house strength and resilience," said Makhura.
Makhura and his cabinet are expected to accompany the remains of the Queen halfway to Kwazulu-Natal where they would be met Premier Sihle Zikalala.
Zikalala would then escort the remains to KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace.
