R8m worth of jewellery stolen in Sandton

Police in Sandton have launched a manhunt for three armed suspects who robbed a jewellery store at the weekend.
The suspects fled with goods worth R8 million at a jewellery store in Sandton City, north of Johannesburg.

Police spokesperson Granville Meyer says the three suspects entered the jewellery store pretending to be customers.
"One of the suspects took out a firearm and threatened the staff and took him to the safe. They then robbed the store of jewellery worth R8 million and an undisclosed amount of money."
