Rainy start for the week ahead

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued an alert for disruptive rain resulting in localised flooding over the whole of Gauteng, the Mpumalanga Highveld and escarpment and the central parts of Limpopo.
Forecaster Kgolofelo Mahlangu says there is a 60 to 80% chance of rainfall expected.
"In all the other provinces we are looking at a 60% chance as well as in the Limpopo Valley.”
Mahlangu adds that the rainfall is expected to last until Wednesday in some of these areas.
"On Wednesday, we are looking at mainly along the escarpment of both Mpumalanga and Limpopo, there might be a little bit of dizzzile along the escarpment and some fog in places.”
Meanwhile, the first cold weather of the year is also blanketing large parts of the country on Monday where maximums will not reach 20 degrees Celsius.
