With elections less than three weeks away, political parties are out and
about trying garner support ahead of the polls.
South Africans will vote in the local government elections on November 1.
During his campaign trial in Kimberly in the Northern Cape, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa told residents the party did its best to save lives and livelihoods during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“You know that government led by the ANC has tried to secure the lives of many of our people. We did the best we can to save lives and to save livelihoods when Covid-19 hit us. We increased the grants and we even introduced the new R350 grant”
He also urged residents to be aware of Covid-19 vaccination myths.
“We must go in our large numbers to go and vaccinate because is the best defense against Covid-19. Don’t listen to those who tell you that if young women vaccinate, they will no longer have children. Don’t listen to those who say if you’re man and you vaccinate things will not work well at home, that’s not true.”
