Ramaphosa invited to Queen Elizabeth funeral

Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor has
confirmed that President Cyril Ramaphosa has received an invitation to attend
the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth, who was the UK’s longest serving monarch, died last week Thursday at age 96.
The funeral will take place next Monday at Westminster Abbey in London.
Pandor briefed the media in Pretoria on Monday on Ramaphosa‘s upcoming visit to the United States, where he will hold talks with President Joe Biden at the White House.
Pandor said the two presidents are expected to discuss issues such as energy, climate change and food security in Africa.
“The two leaders will discuss bilateral regional and global issues of mutual interest though also focusing on trades and investment climate change for security measures, energy access and matters of peace and security particularly in Africa but the globe as well.
“Over the years to the trade between South Africa and United States has been on the increase, the United States is our third largest trading partner after China and the European Union.”
