President Cyril Ramaphosa will present South Africa’s Just Energy Transition plan at the COP28 conference, his spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said on Wednesday.

COP28 is set to take place from 30 November to 12 December in Dubai.
This comes amid South Africa’s ongoing electricity crisis which has led to businesses shutting down and the economy taking a huge knock.
The Just Energy Transition partners include France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the European Union.
The developed countries have pledged $8.5 million to assist South Africa in moving to a low-carbon economy.
“The president will also use the opportunity to present to JET partners as well as other stakeholders South Africa’s implementation plan on our Just Energy Transition, which was recently approved by the cabinet,” Magwenya said.
