Ramathuba shakes up Limpopo provincial cabinet

Newly elected Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba announced her new cabinet in Polokwane on Tuesday.

She says the new MECs will be responsible for “ advancing the development and prosperity of the province.”
The announcement saw Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya return as the MEC of Education and Masesi Mashego succeed Ramathuba as Health MEC.
ANC provincial deputy secretary Basikopo Makamu will remain as the MEC of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs.
ANC deputy chairperson Florence Radzilani has been moved to the Department of Social Development, while ANC provincial treasurer Nakedi Kekana will head up Agriculture and Rural Development.
ANC Youth League provincial chairperson Ernest Rachoene has been deployed as the MEC of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, while Violet Mathye is the new MEC of Transport and Community Safety.
Jerry Maseko is the new MEC of Sport, Arts and Culture, and Elias Mahoai the MEC of Provincial Treasury.
Tshitereke Matibe is the new MEC of the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism.
"The individuals I have appointed to the Executive Council bring a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep commitment to serving our people,” said Ramathuba.
"They have been chosen for their proven track records, their expertise in their respective fields, and their unwavering commitment to the values and principles that underpin our democracy.”
