‘Random’ KZN shooting leaves 4 dead

A 33-year-old man has been arrested for killing four people in what police has described as a random shooting in Creighton, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Four people were declared dead on the scene after the man opened fire on a group of seven people on Wednesday evening.

Two survived with no injuries.
The suspect was subsequently arrested in the Ixopo area in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Provincial police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says one of the victims is recovering in hospital.
"It is alleged that on 3 June at 17:30, seven people were at Centocow in Creighton when the perpetrator showed up and opened fire towards them.
"Further investigations are still ongoing and the motive for the attack is yet to be established. He is due to appear in the Hlanganani Magistrate’s Court soon."
