The Vaalbank Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga has reserved judgment in the bail hearing of a Limpopo police officer accused of sexually assaulting and grooming her minor child to Tuesday.
The 40-year-old constable appeared in court on Friday for a formal bail application.
She was arrested a month ago after she was seen in a video engaging in a sexual act with her son.
She faces several charges, including creating and distributing child pornographic material and the sexual grooming of a child.
The incident is believed to have happened in 2020.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has said it will oppose the bail application.
The boy is being kept in a place of safety after the Groblersdal Children’s Court granted the watchdog permission to remove him from his family home.
