The management of Johannesburg rapid bus service Rea Vaya has confirmed the resumption of operations following a two-day illegal strike by bus drivers.

Workers downed tools on Wednesday, complaining of annual bonus payments being split into two phases and being taxed.
The operating company, PioTrans, was placed under business rescue in December 2023.
Spokesperson Benny Makgoka says buses will resume by midday on Friday.
"Passengers are informed that Rea Vaya buses are operating today. We will operate a full service by midday. We apologise that we could not start the service early this morning.
"The labour dispute between PioTrans and unions has been resolved amicably."
Rea Vaya business rescue practitioner Mahier Tayob said they had been granted a court interdict, preventing bus drivers from blocking buses from leaving the depot.
"The buses have resumed, we got delayed this morning because of sabotage of five buses but that has been resolved. We were successful with the court application a n the employees were interdicted and it was declared a an unlawful strike."
"The second part of the application will be an action for the damages that the entity has suffered, including additional costs the company has incurred in terms of repairs, towing, security all that has to be recovered.
"In addition, I will lay criminal charges for the police to investigate the people behind the sabotage and damages".
