[READ] Government gazettes new Covid-19 regulations

Government has officially gazetted the new Covid-19 regulations ahead of the upcoming festive season.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the new regulations on Monday, which would see more stringent Covid-19 restrictions over festive season. 

 

The new regulations include a stricter curfew between 23:00 and 04:00 daily.

Furthermore, bars and restaurants will be required to close at 22:00 while retail liquor outlets will only be permitted to operate between 10:00 and 18:00 from Monday to Thursday.

 

Beaches in the Eastern Cape and Garden Route will be closed completely. 

 

In KwaZulu-Natal, beaches will be closed on the busiest days over the festive season, including 16, 25 and 26 December as well as 1 and 2 January.

 

 The new regulations will apply for the period of 16 December and 3 January,.
