Reiger Park residents protesting at police station
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Outraged Reiger Park residents have descended on the local police station, demanding the release of two people they claim were arrested during this morning's community protest.
Police, however, have assured the community that only one person was arrested - and that was for cable theft.
Community members took to the streets this morning to protest against service delivery and housing issues in the area.
Police fired rubber bullets to try and disperse the crowd.
Protesters marched to the local municipal offices in nearby Boksburg, where they complained about people from outside the area being given preferential treatment in the allocation of housing.
Residents have been arguing with police, who are not allowing them near the police station.
