Repair work will not affect driving licence cards - Dept
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Department of Transport says the production of driving licence cards will not be affected by repair work on the machine that prints these cards.
Maintenance on the machine was done in April, but there was then a breakdown, which requires a critical part to be replaced.
“It is anticipated that the resumption of card production shall commence within the next 2-3 weeks,” says the Department in a short statement on Wednesday.
They insist though that the production of driving licence cards will not be affected.
"The Department has therefore encouraged members of the public to continue applying for their driving licence card as normal,” they say.
Last year the driver’s licence printing machine broke down for the second time in less than a year.
