Updated | By ANA
A man appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the attack in a Johannesburg park last month in which two men died after they were tied up by a gang and thrown into a dam, and a woman was also raped.
The case against Thabo Nkala, 24, was postponed to November 9 for further investigation.
Nkala, dressed in a red tracksuit top and red pants, sat in the dock as charges of murder, attempted murder and rape were read out.
Police are still searching for other members of the gang, believed to be as many as 12, involved in the attack at Rhodes Park in Kensington.
Two couples were attacked by the gang while walking through park. One woman was raped, while the other woman managed to escape.
The two men were bound and thrown into the Rhodes Park lake. Their bodies were recovered several hours later. - ANA
