PSiRA announced this week that the Red Ants' business operation had been suspended due to improper conduct by the security company when evicting residents from unlawful land occupation.

Right2Know's Moeketsi Monaheng says the security company has violated peoples' human rights and they would like to see the business scrapped.

Monaheng adds R2K wants to see justice for the family of Samuel Mabunda who died in the evictions in Ivory Park in 2017.

It is reported Mabunda was beaten and kicked so severely by the Red Ants, that he later died of his injuries in hospital.

"We believe that no one is supposed to die for wanting a space to live," says Monaheng.

Monaheng has also called for the prosecution of those who authorised the Rend Ants to go and evict resident in the area and led to the death of Mabunda.
