Not all companies are created equal and sometimes employers will try to cut corners for their own gain.

Taking advantage of your employees is unacceptable, but now, in the age of the Internet, it's even harder for companies to get away with their bad behaviour.

In a recent video posted on TikTok, a woman called Callie, @_cal_cifer, shared a notice that was posted by an organisation.

LISTEN: "I can't stand hearing about my friend's kids and husband"

The company has remained unnamed, which might be for the best, as Callie and viewers of the video did not hold any punches.

The notice states that for every minute an employee is late, they will have to work 10 minutes after 6pm (presumably the time they get to clock off).

Of course, this does not sit right with a lot of people:

@_cal_cifer Yea good luck with that 😃 #toxicworkplace #toxicworkenvironment #badboss #corporate #corporatelife ♬ original sound - Callie

Callie makes a lot of good points that the employers clearly did not consider.

People in the comments were also shocked that a company would have the audacity to implement such a rule and even found a nice loophole:

  • Daggus - "easy fight. i show up 3 min early and and leave 30 minutes early."
  • Rebecca Blake - "So then it works both ways right? If I start 15 minutes early I get to leave 2.5 hours (150 minuets) early, right?"
  • Mandi 🍉 - "I mean I’ll stay but I’m staying clocked in and watching my hours. You’re paying me for that extra time. 🤷🏼‍♀️"
  • KNP - "if I'm staying a boss better stay too! if I'm unsupervised I'm leaving. I would get petty too and be late EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. forcing my boss to also stay if they want me to actually stay 😁"

Needless to say, after this viral video, they are probably reconsidering their policy.
