Road closures in Braamfontein ahead of Ramaphosa’s Zondo inquiry appearance

Some streets in Braamfontein will be closed off on Wednesday morning ahead of President Cyril Rampahosa’s appearance at the commission of inquiry into state capture.

Ramaphosa is expected to respond to questions from his time as both deputy president and now president of the country
He is set to testify on Wednesday and Thursday.
Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla says at least four streets within the Braamfontein vicinity will be affected.
“There is a high police visibility within the vicinity of the metro centre in Braamfontein as the state president will be appearing at the State Capture commission. Rissik and De Korte / Jorissen and Harrison street in Braamfontein will be closed off for motorists and only employees at the metro centre.”
The swearing-in of new Johannesburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo will also impact traffic in the city.
“Councillors to be present at the swearing-in of the new executive mayor and people who are attending the commission will be allowed to enter using those routes,” adds Fihla.
