Robbers targeting City of Tshwane technicians
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The City of Tshwane has expressed concern about a recent spate of attacks on its technicians.

The city says its technicians are being targeted by robbers while on duty.
Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says the latest incident took place on Sunday.
"Yesterday, a senior manager stationed at region 6, was accosted by criminals while on duty attending a service delivery interruption in Nellmapius. The manager was left stranded when criminals robbed him of his vehicle, phones as well as other items."
Mashigo says technicians were also attacked in Centurion.
"On March 6, our technicians had to respond to a power outage affecting Olievenhoutbosch in Centurion. Whilst at the substation, the artisans were held hostage and barred from restoring electricity supply needed by the community.
He says the artisans were only released the following morning.
Mashigo says these incidents make it difficult for the city to restore electricity supply during outages and for it to do the necessary maintenance work.
