Roodeplaat power failure leads to water cuts in parts of Tshwane
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Magalies Water has warned of possible water cuts due to a power failure at the Roodeplaat Water Treatment Plant in Tshwane.
The power cut has led to water supply interruptions in the Wallmannsthal supply scheme.
Spokesperson David Magae said electrical repairs are expected to be completed on Friday.
"While the scheme remains operational, the demand currently exceeds water supply. As such, water supply interruptions where water pressure may be reduced and or water supply suspended will continue until tomorrow, when the scheme is envisaged to stabilise.
"We urge customers to use water sparingly during this period in order to prevent prolonged water supply interruptions.”
