Rubber bullets fired in Eldorado Park
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers are firing rubber bullets to disperse protesting residents in Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg.
Community members took to the streets in the early hours of this morning, blocking traffic on the N12 near Lenasia and Freedom Park, as well as closing the Golden Highway.
JacarandaFM News' Samkelo Maseko reports from Eldorado Park, saying residents are demanding housing.
One resident says police officers are firing teargas.
"The main issue is for houses. They mayor has not been here yet. It's only news people here and they are running because people are fighting," says the resident.
