SA in need of a ‘King David’, says Mogoeng
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng says South Africa is crying out for the leadership provided by King David to Israel in biblical times.
Mogoeng was speaking at a religious event in Soweto on Wednesday.
He says a leader similar to King David will ensure the elimination of evil and corruption in South Africa.
"If you have a David in any nation, there can't be any corruption. When you say the money is for building homes it will happen. When you say it's for building hospitals it will happen, it is for employment it will happen," said Mogoeng.
Last week ten people were arrested by the Hawks for their involvement in the Eastern Cape toilet scandal.
The scandal involves a tender of R630 million, meant to build 66 000 toilets in the Amathole District Municipality.
African National Congress (ANC) MP Bongani Bongo was also released on bail following his arrest on charges of corruption.
