China's death toll from the coronavirus epidemic soared past 360 on Monday.
The post office estimates that 5000 parcels arrive in South Africa from China on a daily basis.
Spokesperson Johan Kruger says packages that have been added to the system before flight cancellations will be delivered.
“We can no longer at this stage import or export parcels from China and that means parcels from China will be delayed until flights have resumed.
“We advise people who are posting items to China to wait until they get the all-clear.”
