South Africa has registered 13,921 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24-hour reporting period.

This is according to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD).

"This increase represents a 23% positivity rate," said the NICD in a statement.

The increase comes amid concerns about low vaccination rates, especially among men, and as the national Department of Health (DoH) has advised that the country remains on level 3 lockdown.
