SA sees a decline in Covid-19 admissions

South Africa has recorded another decline in the number of patients taking up Covid-19 beds in both public and private health care facilities.
Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) on Tuesday evening show that there currently are 2 887 patients receiving treatment in hospitals for coronavirus related complications.
Public Hospitals account for 1 512 admissions, while private hospitals account for 1 375 such patients.

A further 1 649 new Covid-19 cases have been identified, bringing the country’s total to date to 3 675 691.
Covid-19 related fatalities increased by 18, with 6 occurring in the past 24 hours.
