Saftu's national strike - what you need to know

The South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) has pleaded with workers across the country to down tools and march on Wednesday against the national minimum wage.
Saftu will be embarking on an unprotected strike on Wednesday, with various marches kicking off at 10:00 and concluding at 14:00.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department will divert traffic in and around the central business district.
According to spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, officers will be accompanying the marchers along their route and have asked motorists to avoid the CBD if possible.
SAFTU's organiser of campaigns, Lebogang Phanyeko says the destruction of property and violence will not be tolerated.
Johannesburg: Assembling at Newtown Precinct Park. Marching to the Department of Labour, the Provincial Department of Health ad the Premier's office.
Cape Town: Assembling at Keizersgracht. Marching to the City of Cape Town offices and Parliament.
Port Elizabeth: Assembling at Vuyisile Mini Square. Marching to Great Centenary Hall.
Bloemfontein: Assembling at Batho Hall. Marching to Department of Labour at 12h00.
Polokwane: Assembling at SABC Park. Marching to the departments of Labour and Social Development.
Durban: Assembling at Botha's Place. Marching to Durban City Hall, departments of Labour, Economic Development as well as the Premier's and Mayor's offices.
East London: Marching to the Department of Labour.
