Sam Mkokeli resigns as spokesperson for crucial Public Enterprises department

Spokesperson for the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Sam Mkokeli has resigned.

A statement released by the Department confirms that Mkokeli resigned on the 28 October.
Mkokeli is currently serving his notice period and will leave the department on 30 November.
“Further clarification on investigations currently undertaken by the DPE will be communicated to the media from tomorrow onwards,” says spokesperson Richard Mantu.
“The DPE must emphasize that honest, ethical conduct and personal integrity are crucial requirements for all public servants in the execution of their duties.”

Reports have emerged that Mkokeli’s resignation is in relation to Chief of Staff, Nthabiseng Borotho, lacking relevant qualifications.
Meanwhile, Mkokeli has had social media abuzz when he spoke out against the department yesterday and accusing the department that's headed by Minister Pravin Gordhan, of going after whistle blowers.
This after the statement that internal processes and investigationsare underway against officials which the department says are implicated in irregular or unlawful conduct.
