Satanic symbols found at Rustenburg school
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
The North West Education Department has launched an investigation after satanic symbols were found at a high school.
Teaching and learning at the Moefi High School in Mabalstad are back to normal after parents shut the school's doors over fears of satanism.
Provincial education spokesperson, Freddy Sepeng, says parents claim they found satanic symbols written in blood or chalk.
Dead animals were also allegedly discovered on the school premises.
"Parents are suspecting that the school is involved in satanism. We as a department can't just leave it and say, 'no they just said it'. We are investigating and finding out what is actually happening at that school."
According to Sepeng, residents claim that the principal is involved in protecting the culprits behind the alleged satanism.
"There is no confirmation that there is satanism at that school," says Sepeng on requests from residents that the principal be removed from the school.
Learners are currently writing examinations at the school.
