Sebokeng cash-in-transit heist death toll rises to nine

Nine suspected cash-in-transit robbers were killed in a shootout with police in Sebokeng on Thursday morning.
Eight of the suspects died at the scene, while one succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Police swooped following a tip-off on the whereabouts of a gang thought to be involved in cash-in-transit heists in the surrounding areas.
Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the crime scene on Thursday morning.
"These guys they shot at the police, the police responded, they shot and killed eight of those guys here on the crime scene as we speak, they are here with six firearms and four of those were critically injured. One has died in hospital which means there are nine those that are fatally shot here.
“Two are still critical, one is in hospital. We are profiling them, but I can safely say we have managed to find that one is from KwaZulu-Natal from the guys that we have found here."
