Eight suspected cash-in-transit robbers shot dead in Sebokeng
Eight suspected cash-in-transit robbers were shot dead in Sebokeng on Thursday morning.
The suspects were killed during a shootout with police.
Four other suspects were wounded.
“These suspects are believed to be behind a spate of cash-in-transit heists that have been occurring in Gauteng and surrounding areas,” says police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
“Acting provincial police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni and he will be joined by the minister of police together with the management of the South African Police Service.”
