Selfe-less DA FedEx to focus on change
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
After 19 years, the Democratic Alliance (DA)"s Federal Executive (FedEx) faces a future without James Selfe at its helm.
Over the weekend the DA announced Selfe would be stepping down from the role of Chairperson of it's FedEx in October to head up its governance unit.
In announcing Selfe's change in role, party leader, Mmusi Maimane said Selfe led the FedEx "with great skill and absolute competence."
He noted that Selfe will remain in the party.
Mmaimane also reflected on the DA"s performance on the recent national and provincial elections, saying: "There can be no debate that these were not the outcomes the DA wanted."
The DA garnered significantly fewer votes than in the previous elections, something Mmaimane said he took responsibility for.
Maimane said that in the next 100 days the DA would focus on how it will bring change in Parliament, provincial legislatures, and local governments.
