Sentencing of former ANCYL leader postponed
Updated | By Silindelo Masikane
Sentencing proceedings of former ANC youth league leader Patrick Wisani have been postponed to the 24th and 25th of April 2017.

The postponement will allow Wisani to raise funds for his legal representation and to transcribe the court record.
Wisani was found guilty of murder after beating his girlfriend to death with a sjambok and broomstick in the room they shared in Yeoville in September 2015.
The NPA's Phindi Louw says they want Wisani to get the prescribed minimum of 25 years behind bars.
"As the state we were looking forward to dispose this matter as speedily as possible, but the court had to allow the accused more time to sort out his financial matters," Louw says.
She adds that it is not unusual for a case to be postponed to allow the accused to sort out financial and legal matters.
"We abide by the court's decision to postpone the case," she said.
Louw says the NPA is the voice of victims of domestic abuse and that is why they are hoping for the minimum prescribed sentence of 25 years behind bars.
