Senzo Meyiwa trial: Court hears Kelly Khumalo 'ordered' hit on footballer

The High Court in Pretoria on Friday heard that it was singer Kelly Khumalo who allegedly ordered the hit on her then-boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa.

The claim was contained in the confession statement by accused number 2, Bongani Ntanzi, which was read out by state witness Lieutenant Colonel Solomon Raphadu in court.
Meyiwa was shot and killed at Khumalo's house in Vosloorus in 2014.
On Thursday, Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng ruled the confession's by Ntanzi and Muzi Sibiya were admissible as evidence in the trail against the five men charged for the Bafana Bafana captain's murder.

Raphadu also revealed the roles of some of the accused on the day.
"I was briefed that the person to be eliminated or killed was Senzo Meyiwa and the matter is initiated by Kelly Khumalo, who was going to make payment for the whole job.
"We were positioned accordingly that Nkani will be the driver, Moses Sibiya will be the guard and myself and Caros will get inside Kelly's house."
